United States Navy Chiefs hold a special place in the hearts of many who have served alongside them in the Navy as well as friends and loved ones who hold them in great respect. You can  “Honor a Chief” and support the National Chief’s Mess by recognizing a Chief that has provided inspiration, mentorship, and guidance to you. An interactive exhibit inside The Delbert D. Black National Chief’s Mess will display your message of thanks and a photo, if provided, of the Chief you wish to honor. This exhibit educates the public about incredible Chiefs who have inspired officers, enlisted, family and friends. 

Honor a Chief program participants have the opportunity to tell the story of how and why the Chief you identified deserves to be honored and recognized. Visitors to the Navy Memorial and the Delbert D. Black National Chief’s Mess will be able to learn about each of these amazing Chiefs.
